The primary responsibility of this position is to design, plan, and optimize server, storage and related components to achieve high performance and resiliency of the various business applications supported. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, planning new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management and continuous improvement of the server environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to: create and modify security administration procedures for the existing email, active directory and windows environment for employees and contractor employees, establish a plan for continuous improvement of processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the server/storage team, monitor key systems to ensure all systems are functioning as desired, provide auditable reports on key systems to satisfy internal/external audit, create and modify patch management procedures on server and storage platforms & execution of complex changes on the existing platforms, perform ongoing monitoring of performance and resource usage, propose hardware upgrades and/or tuning of the existing infrastructure to meet SLAs and provide design proposals for improved system performance and availability.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications include a University degree in the field of computer science as well as a minimum of 10 years experience in a senior technical position responsible for managing server environments. MCITP or Microsoft Certified Solution Expert is required, as well, VCP 6 DCV is required.
