Employees in these temporary positions will function as technical assistants. They will be undertaking activities in support of water quality monitoring projects associated with river sampling and various lake sampling programs.
Duties and responsibilities include, as required:
Collecting water samples in accordance with accepted scientific practices, water quality monitoring and sample collection procedure and protocols;
Compiling and verify water quality data collected manually or electronically in accordance with established procedures
Ensuring accuracy and security of information collected;
Identifying and reporting data discrepancies and issues to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications and Requirements:
The ideal candidates will be college, university students or recent graduates in wildlife biology or ecology, environmental biology. There is a particular interest in drawing students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic, University of Saskatchewan, and University of Regina, especially those with a biology and environmental engineering background.
Work may require considerable travel, an irregular work schedule and, on occasion, extended absences from headquarters. Travel, sustenance, and accommodations will be provided when required to work away from headquarters.
