The Water Security Agency (WSA) is a unique organization in Canada - bringing together all of government's core water management responsibilities in one place. We manage the province's water supply, protect water quality, ensure safe drinking water and treatment of wastewater, own and manage 49 dams and related water supply channels, reduce flood and drought damage, protect aquatic habitat and provide information about water.
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering & Approvals, an employee in this position will aid in protecting, enhancing and sustaining public health and the environment through ensuring the sound design, construction and management of drinking water and wastewater systems. As an Approvals Engineer, this employee will be responsible for approving activities related to the development, construction and management of a variety of drinking water and wastewater systems in the province. This employee will also be participating in the development of protocols, standards, codes of practice and regulations related to drinking water and wastewater systems.
The successful candidate will possess a Degree in Environmental Engineering or similar discipline with a focus on drinking water and wastewater treatment, a license to practice professional engineering from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), and at least 4 years of directly related experience in the design, construction and/or evaluation of drinking water and wastewater facilities.
