Description

The Water Security Agency (WSA) is a unique organization in Canada - bringing together all of government's core water management responsibilities in one place. We manage the province's water supply, protect water quality, ensure safe drinking water and treatment of wastewater, own and manage 49 dams and related water supply channels, reduce flood and drought damage, protect aquatic habitat and provide information about water.

Reporting to the Manager, Regional Services, Weyburn, an employee in this job will provide senior technical, administrative, supervisory and conflict resolution expertise to clients and staff concerning the WSAs mandate to regulate and manage surface water resources and deliver water management and corporate programs.  Duties and responsibilities will primarily focus on regulatory administration including complaints, approvals, and enforcement and water management issues, programs and inquiries.

An employee in this position will possess knowledge and application of survey techniques and procedures, principles of hydrology and hydraulics, field observation skills, air photo interpretation, applicable and environmental legislation and related principles, applicable legal documentation, client interaction and mediation techniques, and corporate policies, practices, and programs.

The successful candidate should possess a Diploma in Water Resources Engineering Technology or a similar technical discipline, 8 years related experience, and will have, or will immediately obtain and maintain registration with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT) as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.).
