CAREGIVER
PROVIDE PALLIATIVE CARE TO A GENTLEMAN AND HELP THE COUPLE REMAIN IN THEIR HOME
Home Instead Senior Care is looking for a dedicated team of individuals to provide care to a senior couple in Weyburn. Build a relationship with a couple, a retired farmer (86) and retired nurse/homemaker (80) in their home in Weyburn. Enhance the lives of these seniors and support their family by providing a variety of non-medical services that allow the couple to remain in their home with dignity, care and compassion.
DUTIES include, but are not limited to:
Companionship and conversation - encouragement, support
Assist with light housekeeping
Assist with meal preparation
Assist with daily activities, appointments, hobbies and social functions
Assist with personal care: ambulation, transfers, grooming, bathing, toileting and incontinence care, medication reminders, palliative bedside care
Drive & escort on outings, appointments and errands
REQUIREMENTS:
Preference for candidates with health care certificates: RN, LPN, CCA
Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
Ability to communicate with couple and family in a friendly and congenial manner
Ability to lift, push, pull 25 pounds
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel & reach
Provision of Criminal Record Check and Driving History, evidence of valid drivers license
SCHEDULING:
Part Time and Full Time positions, depending on candidate's qualifications and availability.
Each shift will be a minimum of 3 hours, up to 12 hours
TRAINING:
Training and on the job support provided
WAGES:
$17-$22/hr
Candidates with RN and/or LPN designations will be considered for a higher wage
OPTION FOR LIVE IN CAREGIVER:
Applicants who could offer care on a live-in basis are encouraged to apply as this family would be willing to offer a live in position - terms and wages of live-in position would be negotiated directly with the family.
