Job Description:     The Quality Improvement Coordinator reports to the Director of Quality Improvement (QIO).  The scope of this role is varied and serves to support system-wide process improvement with a patient/family centered focus.  The position directly supports the implementation of the Saskatchewan Healthcare Management System (modeled on the Global Production System) within the Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region. The position greatly influences the success of system-wide improvement activity and attainment of organizational goals through Kaizen.

Requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent of combined education and experience and 3-5 years of successful employment and leadership in increasingly challenging positions.

This position requires certification as a LEAN Leader within 2 years of starting and must fulfill ongoing maintenance requirements. The incumbent must demonstrate strong facilitation and team management/building skills. The incumbent must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as an extremely high level of organizational skill with attention to detail. The incumbent must be willing to challenge the status quo, maintain standard work with finesse and courage, deal with the potential resulting conflict, understand the organizational strategy and articulate its goals

Must possess ability to operate a personal computer utilizing spreadsheet and word processing applications, normal office equipment, video camera and other imaging equipment used in support of Kaizen activities. Project management applications such as Microsoft Project are an asset.

Must possess a current drivers license.
