Main Function :
Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance (hereafter known as Mgr QA) and taking daily assignments from the Quality Assurance Lead Hand (hereafter known as Lead Hand) performs a variety of qualitative and quantitative analyses on raw materials, intermediate product and finished goods related to wheat and barley milling (hereafter known as commodities). Reports results on work sheets, daily reports and clearance forms. Issues Off Standard Product Reports and identifies any out-of-spec commodities. Advises the Lead Hand of any non-routine situation involving a commodity. Monitors trends in the quality and performance of commodities tested and advises production personnel of observations so as to prevent the occurrence of an out-of-spec commodity while keeping the Lead Hand and/or Mgr QA apprised of such observations.
A. EDUCATION
Minimum completion of a High School Diploma with successful completion of at least two of Chemistry 30, Biology 30 and Physics 30 AND 1 or 2 below:
1) Successful completion of two years towards a degree
2) Successful completion of a Diploma course in food science or baking
B. EXPERIENCE
Must have experience in a lab setting. Preference will be given to those with experience in a food processing facility.
