The Population Health Unit is a co-managed unit of the three northern health authorities, providing population health services in northern Saskatchewan. This temporary position will provide assistance or take the lead on a variety of projects using hospitalization and vital statistics data, including scientific literature review; database design, implementation, and analyses; developing operational procedures and standard processes related to database use and maintenance; and support for producing health indicators used for setting strategic and operational priorities. The position will work under the direction of the Nurse Epidemiologist, with guidance from the Medical Health Officer.
Required Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce and communicate information concisely with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Extensive experience and competency in using MS Excel and SAS database and analytics software
- Masters of Science degree in Epidemiology or biostatistics, or a suitable combination of education and work experience
