Description

As the Managing Executive Director of this not-for-profit organization, you report to the Board of Directors and lead the organization according to the strategic direction set by the Board. You oversee general operations, administration, facilities, staffing and volunteerism, development, programming and exhibits. You see how the CDM will be an integral part of Saskatoons cultural fabric.
Adept at leading people and managing multiple priorities, you model the CDMs values and ensure that the organizations programs and services contribute to the mission of the organization and reflect the Boards priorities. Your focus is on ensuring your team provides an inviting, inclusive and fun environment for all visitors and guests.
Skilled at financial management, you develop an operational plan, oversee preparation of the annual budget, report monthly on variances, and are always looking for ways to increase revenues and maintain expenses, while providing a great experience for children and their families.
You foster effective working relationships between the Board and the staff and volunteers. You are comfortable working with a volunteer Board of Directors, and preparing meeting agendas and supporting materials. You continually scan the environment and identify, assess and inform the Board of Directors on internal and external issues that may impact the organization.
Your strong communication skills allow you to present and engage with external stakeholders, act as a spokesperson for the organization, and enhance the organizations community profile. These skills are particularly relevant as you work to raise awareness and secure support for the organizations capital campaign.
Equipped with knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit and volunteer organizations, a related undergraduate degree, and over five years of experience at the senior or executive management level, you are ready to make your mark on this exciting adventure.
