POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cameco Corporation is looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented individual to join our business technology department. Problem solving, initiative and customer service skills are key when working in this fast-paced environment. As a database administrator you will be responsible for providing operational database services to the organization, with a focus on MS SQL server databases. You will troubleshoot and analyse problems and service request for the business, looking for improvement opportunities and value creation.
In addition, you will track and resolve incidents, proactively monitor the SQL environment, review service-related reports and perform changes to the SQL servers. Keeping in compliance with formal change management procedures and key performance indicators, you will work with a team to ensure maximum system performance with minimal downtime.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Bachelors degree in computer science or a related discipline
Three to five years of experience with MS SQL Server administration
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Familiarity with implementing operational automation using scripts
Experience with formal change management procedures such as ITIL
Assets:
MCTS or MCITP certification
