Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Process month and end year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll from time to time, utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, bank account reconciliations, check runs, debt activity, deposits, etc.
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
Provide recommendations to Finance Director.
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
Meet financial accounting objectives.
Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations on business issues.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Qualifications and Experience
Proven working experience as Accounting Officer
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
High attention to detail and accuracy
BA degree or related field of study in Accounting and/or a suitable combination of training and extensive experience
3-5 years experience with financial responsibilities
Proficient in Simply Accounting (Accounting, word processing, spread sheets, email, internet)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Must be bondable and have Criminal Record check
Valid driver's license
