Description

The Clinic Assistant supports the work unit by performing a variety of clerical and patient care tasks. This position reports to a Provincial or Site Leader/Manager in Radiation Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Outpatient Services, Clinical Trials and Hematology and Blood and Marrow Transplant Program.

No previous experience required

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications
Grade 12
Medical Office Assistant certificate or Continuing Care Assistant certificate or completion of a Nursing or Radiation Therapy program

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to effectively communicate factual information both orally and in writing.
Ability to type proficiently.
Accuracy of fine motor movements for typing/data entry is required.
Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications
Human relations skills required to empathize with complaints and/or concerns and establish rapport with patients, the public and other staff.
Maintain confidentiality.
Required to follow established methods when performing duties.
Some Judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a limited number of alternatives.
