Duties: The Recreation Programmer will plan, schedule, deliver, and evaluate programs and special events. The position will liaise with all community volunteer groups; will assist with facility bookings and registrations as well as implement marketing strategies. The Recreation Programmer will prepare invoicing and contracts, assist in the training of staff, and perform other duties as assigned. This position involves some shift work, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
Completion of a post-secondary degree in Recreation, Education, Event Planning or a directly related discipline is preferred
Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
Experience in arts and heritage, education, program planning, or event programming is preferred
Must possess a valid class 5 drivers license, with access to a personal vehicle
Applicants possessing a related post-secondary degree or 2 year diploma will be placed at a Recreation Programmer 2 level. Applicants without a related post-secondary degree or 2 year diploma will be placed at a Recreation Programmer 1 level.
