POSITION FROM AUGUST 29, 2016 TO APRIL 3, 2017

NOTE:  THIS POSITION WILL BE BASED AT IMPERIAL SCHOOL. THE ASSISTANT WILL ASSIST WITH THE SWIM PROGRAM FOR ALL ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL DEVELOPMENTAL CENTRE PROGRAMS - MAY ALSO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR FIAP PROGRAM OUTINGS.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Teacher Assistant training or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated abilities in working as a member of a team.
- Caring and respectful approach to students.
- Proactive and child-centered behaviour management skills required.
- Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience working with young students with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.
- Experience working with students with self-injurious and/or aggressive behaviours.
- Ability to lift and position students.
- Ability to provide personal care assistance (toileting, dressing and feeding).
- C.P.R. and First Aid training and certificates preferred.
- Swim instructor training preferred.
- Pool therapy training/experience preferred.
- T.L.R training preferred.
- Mandt System training preferred.
- Computer skills.
