Reporting to the Exec. Director, the S.O. is responsible for all aspects of providing representation, and assisting Canadian Forces(CF)/RCMP members, veterans and dependents, who may be seeking information and/or eligibility for services, benefits and programs under Canadian and Allied Veteran legislation, and/or who may be seeking financial assistance from the Benevolent Fund.
Other responsibilities
Process Poppy Fund and Veteran Plate Applications
Plan and deliver training and mentoring to Branch S.O.
Participate ex-officio on Provincial Command Committees and Council
Effective management of claims submitted to VAC
Providing statistical reports and liaising with Dominion Command Service Bureau
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge and understanding the New Veterans Charter (NVC) and Veterans Pension Act
Develop knowledge and stay informed of any and all benefits available for Veterans.
Attend S.O. Professional Development arranged by the Dominion Command Service Bureau to further enhance relevant knowledge and skills related to the position
Build a network with other Provincial S.O.

Ensure confidentiality and privacy in regards to client information

Security Clearance through VAC is a requirement. A current drivers license and vehicle is required.
Relevant educational background partnered with five to ten years plus experience in a leadership and or supervisory position. An equivalent of education and experience will be considered.
