Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a global commodity chemicals company and the leading worldwide provider chemicals used primarily for the manufacture of chlorine dioxide.

The Production Manager provides direction and leadership to ensure a safe, environmentally responsible, quality controlled, efficient and reliable operation is maintained.

The Role:

Develops clear and achievable safety, environmental, cost and productivity improvements and objectives
Manages development of the annual budget, production targets and cost reduction goals.
Supports development of Process Safety Management (PSM) improvement requirements
Directly supervises Process Engineers and Production Supervisors
Responsible for performance management reviews, training and development plans of direct reports, safety and environmental regulations and corporate standards
Participates in the coordination of plant shutdowns and major project installations
Ensures systems and reporting are in place such that product is shipped to customers in accordance with applicable regulations and follow developed procedures
Provides and compiles data with respect to production related activities and reports out on production based measures

The Ideal Candidate:

Min. of 5 - 10 years experience at a production managerial level or possess equivalent knowledge and experience in production supervision or process engineering
Engineering degree is a must with a P.Eng being a strong asset
Experience with union related activities and union negotiations are critical
Excellent leadership, communication,organizational, team development, and time management skills with a strong commitment to safety and environmental protection
