Description

Sr. Financial Analyst
Prairie Plant Systems, a leader in plant based technologies, is seeking a self-driven individual to join the Finance and Accounting team in a permanent full-time position. The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for internal maintenance and development of financial process narratives, policies and procedures, as well as evaluation and analysis of internal processes.

Primary Responsibilities
    Assisting with the monthly financial closing and reporting process
    Special projects regarding compliance with Canadian GAAP, transition to IFRS, regulatory changes and related policy changes
    Documenting the assessment of entity and process level controls.  Performing walkthroughs of major processes and assisting business unit management as needed to update internal control documentation
    Developing audit programs to test the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.  Performing, testing and reviewing test results with business unit personnel under the direction of the Director of Finance & Accounting
    Making recommendations to correct deficiencies identified through internal testing.
    Assisting external auditors in their performance of internal control assessments and testing of controls
    Maintaining the Companys financial policies and procedures

Qualifications
    A professional accounting designation (CPA) with a minimum of 2-4 years experience in a professional accounting setting.
    Candidates must have up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications.
    Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP are required.

Salary will be based on skill levels and education. PPS offers a comprehensive benefits package. Incumbents will be required to pass a Government of Canada Security check, a criminal record check, a pre-employment drug test, and must hold Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residence Status.
