PURPOSE:
Provide instructional assistance for specified participants of Employ-Ability Program, with functional supervision and support being provided by Facilitator and/or Regional Manager.
DUTIES:
Interact with participant(s) based on lead/direction of regular facilitators.
Provide support in tutoring/coaching when need is either expressed or apparent.
During instruction time, provide tutoring support in such a manner that encourages independent thoughts, decisions and actions of participants.
Observe, analyse and interpret instructional material and activity to facilitate comprehension.
Provide feedback and suggestions in a constructive, appropriate manner, which aids and informs participant understanding and action.
Meet with area supervisor regularly, as necessary or as scheduled to review progress.
Assist staff with other tasks upon request, with such activity directly related to program or participant functioning & success.
Update and record case notes for participants.
SKILLS:
Minimum Grade 12
Able to observe, analyse and interpret instructions/applications and provide guidance.
Able to work effectively and patiently in an active, adult learning environment.
Work in an empowering manner with people with physical disabilities and/or low literacy.
REQUIREMENTS:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and applications.
Submission of successful criminal record check.
