Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp Inc. is seeking to fill the following position:

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT

Reporting to the IT Lead, the IT Assistants primary focus would be in the areas of computer operations, users and desktop support (hardware & software), helpdesk, and data management.

Responsibilities:
- Performs a variety of moderately complex IT support duties to ensure smooth delivery of technology services.
- Monitors, operates, coordinates and assists others in the operation of computer hardware, software and peripherals in order to achieve desired results.
- Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency; executing the installation, configuration and testing of equipment; establishing connections and firewalls.
- Utilizes computer equipment, software and diagnostic tools to perform a broad range of customers assistance, production job processing, equipment maintenance and repair, and computer operations assignment.

Qualifications:
- Must posses a post-secondary program in Information Technology.
- A minimum of one year related work experience is required.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, domain administration and core AD functionality (users addition and deletion, DNS, DHCP, Subnet, etc.).
- A strong understanding of available and emerging technologies is essential.  
- Ability to exercise judgment and creativity in selecting and applying procedures correctly.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be self-motivated and possess good interpersonal skills.
