Under the direction of the Band Manager, the Director of Education will be responsible for the coordination, implementation and evaluation of all Moosomin education programs from early learning through post-secondary education. This position also supports student success by providing academic and career counselling to high school and post-secondary students. Proposal writing and reporting to funding agencies will also be required.
Qualifications:The successful candidate will:
Bachelors degree in Education, Business Administration or related field; a certificate or diploma and a significant amount of related experience may be considered.
Experience working with First Nation education institutions and programs Knowledge of First Nation education issues, challenges and delivery models.
Ability to use various computer software systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently.
Possess a valid Saskatchewan Drivers License and must be SGI approved for insurance purposes.Provide a clean CPIC (criminal record check)Possess a strong work ethic, and be dependable and reliable
Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, evaluate and report on all Moosomin education programs and initiatives
Develops and monitors program workplans, objectives and outcomes.Undertakes the development of proposals, workplans, budgets and reports.Attends and reports at Education Committee meetings.Provides guidance and career counselling to high school and post-secondary students. Ongoing liaison with TSEC and INAC on education initiatives.Liaison with high schools and educational institutions.Coordinates research and development for a new school.Monitors budgets and variance reporting.
