Description

This is a .8 FTE permanent  position that is primarily responsible for a variety of career and counselling duties with students and the general public for various College programs and campuses.

This position can be based out of Weyburn or Estevan.

Education
The minimum relevant knowledge or formal training essential to perform the functions of this position is a relevant bachelors degree or academic equivalent.  This education would provide knowledge in career counselling, adult education, group facilitation, testing and assessment, workshop development, analytical and research skills.

Experience        
The minimum of practical related experience required to perform the duties of this position is two years. This experience would provide skills in communication, assessment, group facilitation, career planning, and working as part of a holistic, multi-disciplinary team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires a basic knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of career development theory, counselling ethics and adult learning theory

Demonstrated experience in working with people from equity groups in a cross-cultural setting, and the ability to work in a collaborative, team setting.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer applications.

Demonstrated communication skills, including written and oral, and effective public relations skills.

Demonstrated ability to plan, and facilitate workshops for groups of adults.  

Must be prepared to schedule hours of work according to the demands of the position including evenings and weekends when necessary (i.e. field hours)

Must possess a valid drivers license and be willing to travel
