Reporting to the Area Manager, the Safety Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of activities and initiatives aimed at protecting employees, contractors and the public from injuries, incidents and hazards.
Key Responsibilities
Promote, execute and adhere to the companys safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
Work with various departments to investigate damage, incidents or near misses in the worksite, to determine root cause and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Companys Safety Program.
Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
Create a balance of safe work behaviours and production, ensuring the company succeeds on all levels.
Regularly conduct worksite inspections and audits, and monitor sites to ensure they are effectively completing and updating all required safety documents.
Oversee and enforce compliance with all OH&S regulations pertaining to the companys operations.
Ensure sub-contractor compliance with company safety policies and guidelines, and ensure they have their Certificate of Recognition (C.O.R.) and valid WCB accounts.
Act as a subject matter expert and information resources by addressing all related concerns, conducting new employee orientations, and communicating all safety related initiatives to the employees of Consolidated Construction Company Ltd..
Enforce the companys Drug and Alcohol policy, including Drug and Alcohol testing, compliance, and discipline.
Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the companys Code of Ethics
Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
Other Safety related duties as required.
