Porcupine Opportunities Program (POP), a non-profit organization that supports adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, is seeking an individual to fill a permanent part-time role as Assistant Program Manager. For the right individual, additional opportunity may be available to earn full time hours through work within the residential and/or vocational programs.
The successful individual will be responsible to support the Program Manager in managing administrative, program, and supervisory responsibilities involved with operations of POPs day program and residential programs. This includes primary responsibility for scheduling staff within the residential and day programs, supporting the program manager in administrative responsibilities of his/her role, and in assisting in the development and implementation of individual and group program plans for all participants. The role will also provide supervision for staff in the day program, related vocational programs, and in the residential programs in the absence of the program manager.
The successful candidate will have skills and experience in managing and supervising others as well as strong administrative skills. Other requirements include: strong oral and written communication skills; an ability to troubleshoot issues, make decisions, and think on ones feet; an understanding and affinity for working with others; and a positive, can do attitude. Experience working with people with disabilities is a significant asset.
Preference will be given to those with experience in a related field and/or post-secondary training related to the field of disability.
Other requirements include a valid drivers license with a clean driving record, a criminal record check, and willingness to respond to emergency needs as required.
