General Description
The Saskatchewan Science Centre is seeking innovative and curious individual to fill the position for Science Educator. The Science Educator enhances visitor experiences at the Saskatchewan Science Centre through science interpretation and delivery of public and school programming. Science Educators work to engage visitors in science discovery and exploration.

Specific Responsibilities:

Delivery of school workshops, day camps and community programming and science demonstrations.

Participating in program development and improvement.

Facilitation of school workshops, day camps and other science programming.

Developing skills necessary to enhance visitor engagement through interpretation, demonstrations, and workshop delivery.

Acting as a mentor for Science Explorer staff doing programming activities.

Other Duties relating to Saskatchewan Science Centre programming department.

Qualifications:

Completed post secondary degree, certificate or diploma in science, technology, or education, combined with related experience and/or training in interpretation, communication and/or informal learning.
Experience with public speaking and strong verbal communications skills.
Experience teaching or instructing a variety of age levels.
Proven leadership skills and experience in training, mentoring, or coaching employees.
Curiosity and a keen interest in science and science literacy.
A positive attitude with a high level of customer relations skills.
WHMIS training and First Aid training would be considered an asset
Class 5 drivers license  

Working conditions

Science Educator  is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week.) This position requires availability on weekdays with the possibility of some weekends hours and travel.
