Regina Public Library is recruiting for a temporary, full-time Local History Assistant. The Local History Assistant assists in the promotion of local history and genealogy resources available through Regina Public Library's Prairie History Room. This position assists in an audit of the Prairie History Room collection with the goal of increasing access to RPLs genealogical and local history resources. Under the direction of the E-Services and Programming Leads, develops, delivers, and evaluates local and personal history programs.
The candidate will have graduated from post-secondary education within the last 24 months, with a Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited university, preferably in one of the following fields: History, Library and Information Science, or Archival Studies. Coursework in Canadian History is considered an asset. The candidate must have the demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use technology related to library services, and the ability to learn new technology and adapt to changes within technology as it arises.
Candidate must be under the age of 30.
