Description

This position reports to the Manager, Architecture and IT Project Coordination and is responsible for the development and maintenance of high-level design for the overall logical and technical IT architecture. In this role, the IT Architect (ITA) provides technical leadership and gains organizational commitment for all high-level infrastructure plans. Other duties include:
Document and develop in-depth knowledge of companys existing IT architecture/infrastructure and technology portfolio.
Develop and maintain an infrastructure capacity plan.
Analyze the corporations existing IT architecture and develop strategies for future developments to meet the corporations changing needs.
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
Review new and existing IT projects, systems designs and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans.
Ensure alignment of IT planning and strategy with corporate business goals.
Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction and assistance.
Develop, document, communicate and enforce a technology standards policy.



The knowledge and skills required for this position are acquired through the completion of a university degree or diploma in Computer Science, with 5 or more years' of directly related experience and completion of a TOGAF certification.

The successful candidate must present a work ethic supporting our corporate values and Saskatchewan agriculture, must provide an acceptable criminal record check.
