The Compliance Manager is responsible for supervising Compliance Auditors, and administrative staff and for providing independent analysis and recommendations concerning corporate activities assigned for audits.
Investigate complex/sensitive customer files as requested.
Conduct follow up procedures to ensure controls are strengthened.
Analyze all completed audits and project results and any audits requiring cancelations and/or criminal referrals.
Ensure outside investigative agencies, such as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), understand Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) policies and procedures.
Supervise and train other audit staff, ensuring they are updated on changes to policies and procedures.
Assign audit and investigations to Compliance Auditors.
Carry out special projects in conjunction with the AgriStability Unit.
Ensure the Corporation is represented or represent the Corporation at internal appeals, civil litigations, and criminal trials that are as a result of Compliance division investigations.
Assist in forecasting audit timelines within a designated timeframe and budget.
Represent the Corporation at meetings with other agencies or departments.
Help prepare the divisional plan including projects that are to be completed each year.
Completion of a degree in Agriculture, Commerce, or Administration with a minimum five years of progressively responsible management experience. Knowledge and skills will also be supplemented by classes and experience that provide extensive knowledge of accounting principles applicable to farm tax management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
