Description

The CSS Pension Plan, administers a defined contribution pension plan and provides pensions for more than 40,000 past and present employees of about 360 Canadian Co-operatives and Credit Unions across Canada.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the CSS management team and implement the Plans Communication Strategy. You will review, align and develop the Plans communications to meet members needs and support the Plans business objectives. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of the Plans branding, publications, seminars, workshops, and content creation for the Plans website. You will also ensure that the Plans communications meet the regulatory requirements applicable to registered pension plans.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required to succeed in this position will have been acquired through a degree in journalism/marketing/communications, with five to seven years experience managing the delivery of multiple communication strategies. Knowledge of adult education beneficial; knowledge of pensions preferred.

The ideal candidate will have:

Demonstrated experience preparing quality communication materials including:
  o Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  o Excellent organizational, presentation and public speaking skills.
  o Excellent oral communication skills.
  o Knowledge of desktop publishing, graphics design and production.
  o The ability to communicate complex information to non-experts.
Demonstrated project management experience in a communications role including planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating communication activities.
Demonstrated experience in assessing stakeholders communication needs.
Demonstrated experience using web content management systems (CMS).
Demonstrated experience developing communication issue papers, strategies, policies and guidelines.
