Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance Manager will act as an advisor to the CEO and the Board of Directors by providing business and financial expertise that has impact and influence over business objectives and opportunities.  The Finance Manager will lead the annual budgeting process, represent the company on financial matters to external stakeholders and manage the companys investment portfolio.  The Finance Manager leads the finance department which includes finance, accounting, and payroll.  
Main Responsibilities
    Provide business and financial analyses and advice on matters with potential implications for the financial health of the company  
    Provide sound leadership, management, guidance and coaching to staff
    Oversee development of corporate policies on financial, budgetary and procurement matters, and monitor compliance
    Coordinate preparation of the annual budget
    Conduct negotiations and coordinate revisions on the National Master Standing Offer with the federal government
    Implement policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of accounting, financial and payroll processes, systems and databases and their compliance with federal and provincial legislation regarding taxation and statutory deductions
    Manage the companys investment portfolio in accordance with the Board policies, and provide financial advice and periodic financial reports, including the annual audited statements
Qualifications
    Degree and a Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA)
    Minimum 5 years as a senior manager overseeing one or more financial functions (e.g., accounting, finance, controller) and accounting professionals
