Description

Applications are being accepted for part time Arena Assistant at the Theodore Recreation Complex Arena commencing October, 2016.

Preference will be given to an individual who is available weekends, evenings and occasional daytime.

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Maintenance and security of skating arena
- Maintenance of ice surface using a Zamboni
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of skating area including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and polishing
- General maintenance and repairs
- Maintenance of log books and records as required
- Respond to call out for emergency maintenance and repair work
- Other related duties as assigned
- Clean, wash and sanitize furniture, equipment and lobby areas of the building as required
- Dust all surfaces
- Replenish toiletry and cleaning supplies
- Set up and take down for events
- Inspection before and after each function to recommend/advise regarding any concerns and the return of damage deposit
- Other related duties as assigned

The successful candidate with possess the following:
- Successful completion of Grade XII
- Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver License
- Previous caretaking experience is considered an asset
- Previous experience in the operation of motorized mechanical equipment
including a Zamboni is considered an asset
- Knowledge of cleaning routines and cleaning products
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy manual labour
- Ability to work with others in a team environment including volunteers, renters and the general public and to conduct business in a professional manner
- Ability to complete tasks in a safe and effective manner
- Ability to accept, comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions
-Good communication skills, good public relations skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Work time flexibility: weekends, evenings, occasional daytime
