Under the general supervision and direction of the Director of Education the Sports, Culture, & Recreation Coordinator plans, organizes and ensures community recreational programs and services are developed and implemented. The position entails following policies set by the community, committees, and through executive direction.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Knowledge of and the ability to teach indoor and outdoor sports and games.
Ability to supervise participants in sports activities.
Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
Experience working with children and ability to relate to and interact well with children.
Belief in the individual worth of each child
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills with ability to work collaboratively with others.
Emotionally mature and willing to accept responsibility
computer skills for administrative responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Graduation from college with a bachelor's degree in recreation administration, Physical
Education, social work, psychology or closely related field, and six (6) months experience in public recreation or any equivalent combination of education or experience.
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License.
