As part of the Gambling Awareness Program, the Communications Coordinator will support the team by developing a communications strategy to help inform and communicate to a range of agencies, stakeholders and the general public about the Program. The Communications Coordinator promotes GAP to a wider audience through social media, website, and develops resource materials for the team to distribute and use in communities during outreach and prevention education activities. * Strong communication skills to develop creative, interesting content
* Desktop publishing, graphics design, and website development skills
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google for Work, demonstrated proficiency in using desktop publishing software (ex: Quark), and web design software.
* Ability to multi-task; manage time effectively. You must be able to work independently within a team environment and work collegially as part of as staff located within a busy head office. Support for the management/maintenance of the CMHA Division website and social media will be required.
* Two or more years of practical experience in Communications or Marketing. A degree, diploma, or certificate in Communications is preferred but not required.
* Candidates selected for an interview must provide a portfolio of their work that illustrates their skills and abilities. A clean Criminal Record Check will also be required if offered the position.
