We have one part time position to fill for a soft spoken, compassionate, detail orientated personal care worker who is happy to assist an adult male quadriplegic in his home, community and sometimes with travelling. You will be his arms and legs assisting him to to live his best life. You will be working with all the latest technology and equipment making it a safe and inviting work environment.
Shifts are Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday overnights and you are able to sleep during your shift and get up to help as needed through the night. Orientation will include a series of mornings between 7:30 AM and 11 AM as well as evenings between 7 PM and 10:30 PM. Experience is an asset but not a requirement.
Duties:
Positioning in bed
Assist with catheterization.
Duties for mornings/evenings:
Assisting with exercise and range of motion.
Assist with dressing and undressing.
Transfer, using ceiling track, between bed, wheelchair and commode.
Positioning in bed.
Help with shower, brushing teeth and brushing hair.
Assist with self catheterization.
Bowel care.
Meal preparation.
Clean and tidy up after performing other duties.
Other personal care & light duties as directed.
Be respectful of the client and the households.
Occasional traveling away from home.
