RECREATION/PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE PERSON
The Town of Eston is looking to fill a full time, permanent Maintenance Person position. Reporting to the Director of Public Works, this position works approximately half of the year in the Public Works Department, and half the year in the Recreation Department. In winter months, evening and weekend work is a regular part of the position. In summer months, shifts are typically Monday to Friday. A comprehensive benefits package is provided. Duties
Assist with day-to-day operation, cleaning, maintenance and safety of the Eston & District Community Complex and all recreation facilities.
Complete regular custodial and ice maintenance functions at the Community Complex.
Maintain public parks and grassed areas.
Operate equipment used in the maintenance, repair and fabrication of equipment and buildings including backhoe, grader, sweeper, mowers, sanding truck, dump truck, garbage truck, landfill compactor, and Zamboni.
Maintain, repair and fabricate equipment.
Construct and repair buildings, water and sewer systems, fences and other structures.
Assist with community waste and recycling collection.
Operate water and sewer systems on a relief basis.
Support operation and maintenance of campgrounds including grounds keeping, garbage collection and cleaning of the shower house.

Qualifications
A class 5 drivers license is required. Candidates will preferably hold a minimum education of Grade 12 or GED. A criminal record check is required from all new employees.
