Description

We are looking for three casual Family Treatment Workers [FTW] positions in Regina. The FTW provides day to day family care functions, including family transportation to treatment appointments, some childcare responsibilities, assistance with household management and basic parenting duties. FTW responsibilities ensure the provision of a safe, nurturing, and structured living environment for all of the families.  The position is centered on ongoing problem-solving and professional judgment.  It consists of assessing safety at all times, providing in-home, hands on support to families and making decisions so that family strengths are maximized.  

Qualifications and skills
- Education related to social work or any other human related courses, plus a minimum of one years experience working with children and families.
- Demonstrated ability to working both independently and as an inter-disciplinary team member.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with agency staff, consultants, referral sources, service providers, education personnel, and families in treatment.
- Familiarity with the needs of children and child development principles.
- Experience in assisting parents to develop the expertise needed to operate their home.
- Strong commitment to assisting families in challenging situations. Non-discriminating approach to duties.  
- Compassionate, persevering, and a good listener.
- Knowledge of pertinent legislation, such as, The Child and Family Services Act, The Education Act, and the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Must hold a class 5 novice 2 or higher valid Saskatchewan drivers license and a clear driving record, ability to travel, and use of a personal vehicle.
