Description

Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative

A programming position is available with the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative located in the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Information Services Manager, the Programmer/Analyst (PA) works closely with other members of the CWHC IS Group in the development of the CWHCs Wildlife Health Intelligence Platform. The work is fast-paced with emphasis placed on meeting a contract-based deadline for project completion. This position is focused primarily on the effective generation of code and solutions to business problems in a web-based development framework. A high level of problem solving ability and dynamism is required as well as an aptitude for implementing working solutions quickly.

Qualifications/Experience
Must have either a technical diploma or University degree in a Computer Science or Technology. Candidates must have proven development skills and a strong work ethic is essential. A high level of communications skills, both written and verbal is required. Candidates must have a minimum of three years experience in a web-based software development position and experience within a wildlife-health or biology related field would be considered an asset. Candidates must be familiar with relational databases and be proficient in the development of SQL queries. Experience with MVC frameworks and web-based development is preferred and in particular, experience with AngularJS would be considered a strong asset.
