Simpson Seeds Inc. is excited to be expanding its Swift Current operation. As we gear up for full operation in early 2017, we are currently looking for General Labourers to assist during this transition phase. These roles will eventually transition into Plant Operator Trainee once the plant is operational. These positions are full-time.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be a part of seeing a facility of this kind move from start up to fully operational.
Some of the duties that would comprise the General Labourer role will involve:
Bolting buckets on elevator belts
Assisting with the assembly of drags and elevators
Work on lining segments
Painting touch-ups
Moving pieces and parts to keep areas clean and organized
As a Plant Operator trainee, you will be oriented in all aspects of cleaning/processing grain, conducting quality checks, operating and maintaining plant equipment and ensuring our standards for our customers are exceeded. You will also learn about receiving and shipping our product. Upon completion of the training period, you will have the potential to advance to the position of Plant Operator. We operate Monday to Friday 24 hours a day with some additional shifts on Saturday.
The successful applicant will possess the following skills:

Able to work rotating shifts Days/Afternoons/Midnights.
Work effectively with a team and independently.
Effective communication skills.
Core computer skills.
Ability to work in a dusty work environment.
Mechanical aptitude is ideal.
As we are willing to train a qualified candidate, no experience in the field is required.
