Job Description: The Regional Nurse Educator assists the Director of Acute Care Services in the establishment and maintenance of high standards of safe, patient care through the assessment of learning needs of nursing staff across the region, facilitation and coordination of orientation and training to meet nurses needs, and evaluation of education and training.  The Regional Nurse Educator assists with the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing policies and procedures based on evidence based best practice.  The Regional Nurse Educator assists nursing staff in implementation of best practice through researching and disseminating knowledge to staff.  The Regional Nurse Educator keeps current through maintaining licensure as a registered nurse and through providing direct patient care as determined in consultation with the Director of Acute Care Services.

To qualify you will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
Minimum of three to five years working in an acute care setting
Current registration with Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association
Possess current CPR certification
An equivalent of education and experience may be considered
Organizational and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, consultative manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of the principles of adult learning and demonstrated ability to present, teach/facilitate and implement new programs and procedures
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills including conflict resolution
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and with external service providers
Ability to work with minimal supervision
