Description of position:
Providing respite to a family for a 19 year old male with high functioning Autism. He would like to have a male respite worker.
His interests are video games, going to the movies, computers, libraries and reading science fiction.
Duties:
Planning and organizing social outings in community on a one to one basis with the goal of meeting friends, connecting to community, going to the gym
$15/hour
6 hours a week (2 x 3 hour outings)
Qualifications:
Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check
Education in either Disability and Community Support or Early Childhood Education is preferable but not an asset
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or Autism
Valid drivers licence and access to vehicle is an asset
