SIIT is recruiting facilitators to deliver multiple JobSeries courses commencing between October and January, with each course being between 8 and 20 weeks in length, across the province. The Facilitator will be responsible for delivering a specific program according to the needs of the community, funding agency or employer. Working collaboratively with other SIIT employees and partners, the Facilitator will demonstrate a strong commitment to create and maintain a creative and positive learning environment at SIIT. The position includes:
Prepare lesson plans and appropriate delivery methods,following the curriculum provided to deliver: JobFind, JobSkills, JobFocus, or JobSuccess program
Create and maintain all course-related materials including evaluations, attendance records, and course evaluations
Use appropriate methods of instruction, modeling, and coaching to facilitate client learning
Work closely with participants to identify their barriers and to guide them to determine appropriate solutions
Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to coordinate activity for client income support and attendance
Provide assistance, guidance, and information to clients or learners as required for each project
Network and build relationships with appropriate employment agencies, networks and employers
Document and report client results as required
Required Qualifications and Experience: A degree or diploma in the Human Services field, or a Life Skills certificate is preferred. Two (2) years of related experience in Facilitating or teaching and experience and knowledge of local and provincial labour markets, educational institutes and community resources. Experience in assessing and counseling First Nation adults is considered an asset. Experience working with Microsoft Office suite of programs is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations would be an asset.
