PARTNERS Family Services is accepting applications for the position of Outreach Worker. PARTNERS staff provide a safe, confidential and welcoming environment that assists individuals and families to meet their immediate and on going needs. This position is 8 hours per week and will require travel to the community of Wakaw every Wednesday. Position is a one year term with possibility of extension commencing ASAP.
Duties include:
- Meeting with clients to determine needs
- Provide referrals for housing, addictions, mental health, domestic violence, income assistance
- Act as a service coordinator for clients accessing multiple services
-Provide advocacy for clients struggling to navigate social services programming
- Crisis intervention
Requirements:
- BSW, BISW, Addictions Counselor, Child and Youth Worker, ECE or other human services certificate/diploma/degree
- BSW students encouraged to apply
- Experience working with vulnerable or at risk populations
-Experience collaborating and cooperative with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordination of services to clients
- Experience working with community groups, volunteers and agencies
- Strong team work capacity, highly organized, and capable of managing varied demands
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professional demeanour
- Excellent writing skills, time management, communication and file management skills
- Computer competencies
- Certified in First Aid and CPR
- Use of personal vehicle including 2mil in liability insurance
-Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector screening
