The Lodge is seeking a mature, responsible and professional individual to fill the position of:
EVENING YOUTH COUNSELOR - Full-Time Position
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of youth during the evenings; undertaking 1:1 counseling; facilitating group counseling; case management; Duties of this position include (not limited to):
- Evening supervision of youth: during activities on/off the premises.
- Facilitate 1-1 sessions
- Pre-post assessments
- Create and maintain a therapeutic care plan.
- Develop & facilitate treatment programming & group sessions.
- Establish working relationships with: family members, social workers, teachers, etc.
- Maintain client files.
- Assist in modifying counterproductive behavior & attitudes of youth clients through supportive behavior modelling techniques & counselling.
- Devise & implement extra curricular activities.
- Demonstrate professional appropriate behavior.
Minimum qualifications include: Certificate or Diploma in Addictions, Chemical Dependency and experience in working with youth. Applicants must have or be eligible to apply for certification through a recognized organization such as: CCPC, CACCF, FNWAC in order to work with youth in the area of counseling. Must submit a valid driver?s license, CPIC & Vunerable Sector?s check. Applicants must also lead an addictions free lifestyle & promote their own wellness and an interest in promoting First Nations cultural based programming. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven reliability and the ability to work in a team.
COMPENSATION & STARTING DATE
Salary will be commensurate with education & experience. Starting date will be as soon as possible.
