Job Description: This position reports to the Director of Community Health Development and is responsible for the direct delivery of services to children, youth, families and communities who have been exposed to violence. Services include individual and group counseling, community-based prevention education and counseling and case management and outreach services. The position is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners (such as the local community schools) in order to implement group programming, workshops and activities.  A combination of individual counseling and case management in conjunction with offering group programming and community workshops is required.  It is expected that the Children Exposed to Violence (CEV) Program Coordinator be able to manage their time accordingly to ensure an appropriate balance of group programming, individual counseling, school-based programming, and community education events.  The Children Exposed to Violence Program Coordinator may also make referrals to other programs and services as necessary, and is encouraged to work in partnership with other agencies and community based organizations.
Experience
BSW preferred
Background working with children, youth and families.
Must be highly motivated, self starter, energetic, innovative and creative individual
A minimum of 2 years experience in program development and implementation
Experience in delivering group programming and community workshops
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience in working in partnership with agencies and community based organizations
Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
CPR / First Aid Level C
