FARM LABORER with DRIVERS LICENSE
DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED - Make it known when you apply for this position
DUTIES:
- Work with Christmas & nursery trees
- Swinging a 26 inch knife to trim excess branch length to produce perfect cone shapes.
- Harvesting with chain saws & load trailers
- Most times are busy, very physically demanding & you'll be tired at days end
PHYSICAL ABILITY:
- It's very physically demanding; you must have the energy to be fast in your use of hands, walking & enjoy competitive hard labor. Go home tired/dirty & come back, do it again the next day (only strong healthy alert coordinated people should apply).
TERM & WORK SCHEDULE: (36 to 44 hours/week, schedule dictated by weather conditions)
- Monday to Saturday until November 28
- This is agriculture, wages are straight time and no further benefits
- Payment advance on 15th, final on the 1st only
- If you can work with all implied, we are hiring the first part of October
FOOD & DRESS CODE:
- Food and plenty of water to sustain yourself for a long hard day
- Work clothes that can take sap stains & the rigors of physically moving a large quantity of trees daily in variable weather conditions from +20 to -32 degrees. You need a hoodie, warm gloves, neck tube, hat (toque), 8 inch high steel or composite toe boots (no sun glasses). Your punctuality and positive attitude is expected.
READING & COLOUR DIFFERENTIATION:
All products we ship are tracked - you are required to read all tags & distinguish the colour of these (printed on numerous colours).
WHERE:
Located 24 km south of Prince Albert. A 7 or 15 passenger van to transport staff leaves the city at 7:00 AM.
