Permanent Part Time (.75 - 30 hrs/week) Facility Operator
Maverick School

Dates: As soon as possible

Preferences will be given to applicants who:
Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude
Demonstrate diligence, strong work ethic, and pride in workmanship
Perform minor interior and exterior repairs/maintenance
Perform daily cleaning, dusting, washing, polishing and scrubbing
Demonstrate an interest in students and in education
Work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Display energy, initiative, and enthusiasm
Maintain a positive attitude, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with students, staff, parents, the general public and school division personnel
Maintain confidentiality and use discretion in all instances
Ability to provide strong leadership to the Facility team

Desired Qualifications:
Grade X minimum
Fireman's Certificate, Refrigeration Engineer preferred
Ability to deal tactfully and cooperatively with publilc, students, staff
Minimum of 1 year experience in building maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical systems
Good mechanical ability with strong capabilities in the area of troubleshooting
Strong background and knowledge of safe workplace practices
Proficient in the use of all hand tools and equipment
Good physical condition
