Description

The Ministry of Health, Acute and Emergency Services Branch is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual to join our team in the position of Project Manager  Cancer Services and Financial Services.  We offer a challenging, innovative and supportive work environment, with opportunities to provide leadership and support province-wide planning, delivery and evaluation of hospital, emergency medical and cancer services.

The financial management aspect of this position involves analyzing, interpreting and presenting financial data to senior management in the areas of hospital, cancer, emergency services, and quality and continuous improvement.  This will include budget development and monitoring.  You will support the other branch project managers and directors by supplementing the analysis of program service volumes/metrics with the use of financial metrics and analysis.  This position is responsible for the preparation and coordination of a wide variety of reports and documents that are both internal and external to the Ministry and is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will typically have a Bachelor of Business Administration or Commerce with a major in Accounting and be enrolled in a professional accounting designation program.  A combination of education and experience will also be considered.  The successful candidate will also bring strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills, and a good understanding of government administrative and financial processes, project management methods, and program/project evaluation techniques.  For both aspects of this position, the successful candidate is required to understand complex policy-related issues and be able to apply their skills to address these issues.
