Description

Primary Purpose: To provide comprehensive administrative support for the Departments Undergraduate Medical Education Program as well as overall administrative support with projects, both ongoing and one-time, for the Department that align with the Academic Mission of the Department.
Nature of Work: Reporting directly to the Staff Supervisor and overall to the Finance & Administration Manager, this position interacts with a diverse group of individuals including faculty, trainees, staff, other administrative units, and the public.  Approximately half of the work will focus on administering and supporting the overall Department of Psychiatry UGME program as well as proving administrative support for the Education Director and the Core Rotation Director with interactions with Site directors in other sites across the province.  The position requires a high level of efficiency, prioritization, attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines and displaying a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The other half of the work will focus on various ongoing and one-time projects that support the mandate of the Department as a whole. This will include support for the Continuing Medical Education Director, the Department Head and the Finance and Administration Manager in various projects they are accountable for.  The incumbent is expected to develop a strong in-depth understanding of the UGME program and the Department of Psychiatry, including reaching out to various members both within the University and the community.  Work is performed with general supervision in a fast paced environment, subject to multiple, conflicting deadlines and priorities with frequent interruptions.
