The position of Finance Assistant 2 will be supervised by the Director of Finance, with overall accountability to Kahkewistahaw Chief and Council. The Finance Assistant 2 is a support position for the finance department. He/she will be directly responsible for taxation, revenue and accounts receivables; will review, conduct self-assessments and ensure the KCIF (Kahkewistahaw Community Improvement Fee) is tracked, collected , remitted and accounting principles are applied.
Qualifications:
- Formal Education in the Accounting field from a recognized technical institute with at least two years of work experience.
- Experience with First Nations Financial Management and taxation with knowledge of Revenue Canada Taxation rules and procedures.
- Must have the working experience with Accounting Software Quick books.
- Minimum of 2 years experience computerized accounting.
- Must be able to work under pressure and in a fast pace environement.
- Must possess good communication skills (written and oral) to effectively deal with Chief and Council, staff and general public.
- Must possess strong leadership and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team member.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Computer programs.

- Have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
