Description

The HIPPY Home Visitor develops partnerships with parents of 3-, 4- and 5-year-old children to enable the parent to work directly with their child on developmentally appropriate, skill building activities. The Home Visitor helps parents understand early childhood development concepts and terminology that increases the parent's ability to observe and understand their child's learning process.
Duties
-Achieve an understanding of agency mission, strategic focus areas and overall goals and objectives. Contribute to the success of these areas.
-Meeting and role playing the curriculum with assigned families each week
-Participation in the planning and orchestration of group meetings, which includes role playing the curriculum and the provision of an enrichment activity
-Participation in weekly in-service training and other staff development activities
-Keeping the HIPPY coordinator abreast of child/family progress and familial issues and concerns as they arise
-Timely completion and submission of required forms and other documentation as required
-Participation in all sponsored HIPPY activities (e.g., field trips, graduations, awards ceremonies, etc.)
-Assisting the coordinator in maintaining an efficient record keeping system for participating families
Ability to:
-Adhere to schedules and specific timetables.
-Use good organizational skills and to be task-oriented.
-Effectively communicate in both oral and written forms.
-Use excellent inter-personal skills, including intangible qualities (e.g., friendliness, openness, non-judgmental attitude, enthusiasm, etc.).
-Be physically capable of performing all job duties.
-Serve as a role model (positive attitude, professional dress, demeanor and behavior.   -Complete paperwork and reports
-CPIC and a vulnerable sector check must be provided
-Reliable transportation and possess a valid driver's license
