POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Divisional Accounting Supervisor is accountable for financial reporting and analysis as well as reviewing and establishing internal controls and providing necessary business services support for operations. This includes reviewing and establishing efficient procedures and systems for financial and statistical reporting, and to ensure internal controls are adhered to.

This position is responsible for coordination of all Business Services Team activities to ensure efficiencies are maximized among the teams functional areas of Accounts Payable, General Accounting, Woodlands Accounting, Payroll, and Administrative Assistance.  This includes supervision and mentoring of Accounting Technician positions to ensure timely and effective cross-training/coverage is achieved.

The Divisional Accounting Supervisor is an integral part of the Meadow Lake OSB leadership team for providing direction in financial and statistical information systems, operational analysis, evaluation of capital expenditures and preparation of operating and capital budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

University degree with a recognized accounting designation (CGA, CMA, CA) or equivalent will be considered an asset
Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal and time management skills
Have the ability to lead and work in a highly efficient and dynamic team environment
Strong computer skills, notably with the Microsoft Office applications and accounting software
Experience in the forest industry, Empower, and/or JD Edwards software will be considered assets
